Since May, rain damage to public structures, such as roads and bridges, have amounted to ₹38 crore and 105 deaths, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy said on Thursday.
There have also been damages to 2,814 houses and death of 606 heads of cattle, he said, adding that over ₹12 crore has been released as compensation for house damages. Commending the officials for their relief work, Mr. Kumaraswamy said ₹186 crore has been released already to the districts to undertake relief work. An additional ₹22 crore has been released to take up emergency relief work in Ballari, Belagavi, Dakshina Kannada, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mandya, and Vijayapura.
