ALLAHABAD: The city Congress committee workers celebrated the 47th birthday of the party's vice-president Rahul Gandhi as 'Sankalp Diwas' at the party's office, on Monday.
UP Congress Committee spokesman Kishore Varshney administered the oath to the partymen under the 'Haq mango abhiyan'. Varsheny exhorted the youths to imbibe the values Rahul Gandhi - "with whom countrymen have great expectations" - stands for. "He is the future of the country and resembles his late father Rajiv Gandhi," they said.
The Congress leaders expressed their grief on the deaths of farmers from across Madhya Pradesh to Kaushambi. They also urged the BJP-led government to resign on the accounts of morality. They went on to say that the government is against farmers.
