TheÂ IndianÂ stock market has extended the morning gainsÂ in theÂ MondayÂ afternoonÂ session with theÂ Nifty50 upÂ 57 points, trading at 10,862 while the SensexÂ gainedÂ 250 points and is trading at 36,213.
Nifty Energy was up over a percent led by Reliance Industries, Indian Oil Corporation and GAIL India.
Metal stocks continued to shine led by Hindustan Copper, Hindalco Industries, Jindal Steel &Â Power, JSW Steel, MOIL, NALCO, SAIL, Tata Steel and Vedanta.
However, IT stocks were weak dragged by Tata Elxsi, Infosys, Oracle Financial, Mindtree and HCL Tech.
The top gainer fromÂ NSE includeÂ Tata Motors which jumped 4 percent followed by Power Grid, Vedanta,Â ICICI Bank andÂ NTPC whileÂ the top losers included Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Infosys and Hero MotoCorp.
The most active stocksÂ were Kotak Mahindra Bank, YES Bank,Â Vedanta, ICICI Bank and Maruti Suzuki.
Hindustan Unilever, Ircon International, PVR, GMM Pfaudler, Proseed India and Vinati OrganicsÂ have hit new 52-week high on NSE in thisÂ morningÂ session.
27 stocks have hit new 52-week low including names likeÂ Adhunik Metaliks, Amtek Auto, Healthcare Global Enterprises, IL&FS Transportation Networks, Rolta India, and Visesh Infotecnics among others.
