Argentina foray aimed at continent’s second-biggest market
Royal Enfield, a division of Eicher Motors Ltd., has expanded its presence in Latin America with a foray into Argentina. The motorcycle major opened its first flagship store in Buenos Aires that would offer, in addition to sales, after-sales support, spares and service.
Argentina is the third country, after Brazil and Colombia, that Royal Enfield is entering in Latin America. The country is also home to the second-biggest motorcycle market in the continent.
“Our network of flagship stores is now present in nodal cities such as London, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona and Melbourne,” said Rudratej Singh, president, Royal Enfield.
“More recently, our focus has been on fast-emerging motorcycle markets such as Southeast Asia and Latin America. We are expanding our footprint in the Latin American region, where we already have established presence in key cities such as Sao Paulo, Medellin and Bogota,” he added.
In Argentina, Royal Enfield will offer four of its models — the iconic Bullet (500cc), the Classic (500cc), the Continental GT (535cc) cafe racer and the Himalayan (410cc).
From April 2017 to February 2018, Royal Enfield sold more than 7.44 lakh units marking a growth of 23% from a year earlier, the company said in a statement.
