Farmers in Adilabad district would get their new patta passbooks by March as planned by the State government, announced Collector D. Divya at the Republic Day celebrations here on Friday. She said the administration has purified the records related to 9.10 lakh acres in nearly two lakh survey numbers and 1.38 lakh accounts of farmers.
The Collector talked of various development activities taken up in the districts in her Republic Day speech. She said in the last three-and-a-half years, Scheduled Caste beneficiaries were given subsidies to the tune of ₹35.5 crore. On irrigation development, Ms. Divya said the first three phases of Mission Kakatiya saw 161 tanks being de-silted and developed.
Earlier, the Collector unfurled the national flag and took the salute at the ceremonial parade. She visited stalls set up by government departments and gave away appreciation certificates to employees and officials for their meritorious services.
The Republic Day was also celebrated at Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial and Nirmal districts which earlier formed part of undivided Adilabad. At K.B. Asifabad, Collector Prashant J. Patil gave away certificates of appreciation to officials.
