Gold crossed Rs 100 crore-mark in about two weeks. It is Akshay Kumar's ninth Rs 100 crore film, Mr Adarsh added. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Jolly LLB 2, Rustom, Airlift and Housefull 3 are some of Akshay's film to have hit a century at the box office. "Gold crosses Rs 100 crore-mark on Day 13... (Week 2). Friday 1.85 crore, Saturday 3.10 crore, Sunday 4.75 crore, Monday 1.45 crore. Total: Rs 100.45 crore. India business... Akshay Kumar's ninth film in Rs 100 crore club," Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Meanwhile, apart from Gold, 2018 films like "Padmaavat", Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Raid Baaghi 2, Raazi, Race 3 and Sanju have also hit the 100 crore jackpot so far at the box office.
TV actress Mouni Roy debuted in Bollywood opposite Akshay Kumar in Gold. Akshay plays the role of a hockey coach Tapan Das, who trains team India to win its first gold medal as a free nation at 1948 London Olympics. Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar Singh, Amit Sadh and Sunny Kaushal are also part of the Reema Kagti-directed Gold.
