Honor 7C is a budget smartphone with 18:9 display, dual rear cameras, and support for face unlock.

Honor, the e-brand of Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has launched the Honor 7C smartphone in China. The smartphone will go on sale starting March 13, and its prices start from RMB 899 (around Rs 9,000).

The Honor 7C features a 5.99-inch display with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels, and support for the taller 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC and can be purchased in two storage variants. The base model comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, while the premium model offers 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

Huawei is all-in on the dual rear camera system and the Honor 7C is no different. It features a combination of 13-megapixel primary sensor and a secondary depth-sensing 2-megapixel sensor at the back. The front-facing camera uses an 8-megapixel sensor, but lacks a dedicated selfie flash. The camera, of course, supports portrait mode effect on the front as well as rear shooter.

The Honor 7C runs EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo and the dual-SIM device comes with a dedicated microSD card slot. It features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, but there is also Face Unlock feature powered by the front-facing camera. The Honor 7C will be available in black, red, gold, and blue color options. It goes on sale starting today at RMB 899 (around Rs 9,000) for the 3GB RAM model, and RMB 1,299 (around Rs 13,000) for the 4GB RAM variant.

The Honor 7C will compete with Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus, the smartphones with similar specifications in China’s online market. Huawei has grown to become the leader in China’s smartphone market primarily based on strong demand for its Honor-branded smartphones. The company has made display with taller aspect ratio and dual rear cameras standard for the Honor phones as it competes with Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi in its home market.
