Jeep Compass launched in India at Rs 14.95 lakh, variants explained

Jeep has launched the all new Compass in India with the base model priced at Rs 14.95 lakh. The price goes all the way up to Rs 20.65 lakh for the top trim. The SUV is locally produced at Fiat's Ranjangaon plant and here are the differences between the five trims.

The base model of the Compass is the Sport. It is available with both, a petrol and a diesel engine, albeit, only with a six-speed manual transmission. The Sport model gets a 5.0-inch U-Connect infotainment system in the centre. Along with that Dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, traction control are some of the safety features present on the Sport trim of the Compass. Other than his, the Sport variant gets 16-inch steel wheels, halogen headlamps, Power adjust and folding wing mirrors, four-wheel disc brakes and an electric parking brake.

Apart from the features on the Sport trim, the Longitude trim comes with, Front cornering fog lamps, Rear fog lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, Keyless entry and go, Push button start, Rear parking sensors and a Dual-tone interior. The Longitude trim of the Compass is only available with the 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine with a six-speed manual transmission.

The Longitude (O) variant of the Compass is also only offered with a diesel engine and a six-speed manual transmission. In addition to the features present on lower variants, it gets a 7.0-inch infotainment system from U-Connect, Dual zone climate control, roof rails, projector headlamps and a rear parcel tray.

The Limited trim of the Compass is available with both, petrol and diesel engines. The petrol is even available with a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission in the Limited trim. Apart from that, its gets LED tail-lamps, Rear camera, Grey leather upholstery and steering, Door sill guards, SelecTerrain 4WD system, Dual front, side and curtain airbags.

In the Limited (O) trim, Jeep is offering HID headlamps and a contrast black roof apart from all the features in other trims.

Jeep has positioned the Compass brilliantly in the market and the pricing and features of all the trims is definitely going to interest a lot of buyers who did not think that a Jeep could fit into their budget.
