New Delhi: The entire cabin crew of a flight on which singer Sonu Nigam sang on the flight announcement system has been grounded while an inquiry is conducted, Jet Airways has said in a statement.
The airline has called the impromptu concert by the popular Bollywood singer "misuse" of the system and said the crew will be given "corrective training to reinforce strict adherence to operating procedure".
The singer was on a chartered Jet Airways flight from Mumbai to Jodhpur on January 4, when he accepted the request of fellow passengers and crooned on the flight announcement system.
He sang two of his most popular songs from Bollywood movies - Do Pal Ruka from "Veer Zaara" and Panchhi Nadiya from "Refugee".
Passengers recorded the performance and uploaded videos that instantly went viral and the singer trended on social media.
On video, Sonu Nigam is seen dressed casually in T shirt, jeans and boots leaning against a wall in the plane as he sings to loud cheers.
