Photojournalist Keshav Vitla, 56, passed away in Mangaluru on Monday after a brief illness.
Born in Vitla on July 12, 1961, he underwent technical training in studios and colour laboratories before joining Kannada daily Mungaru in 1984.
He joined the Indian Express group of publications in 1996 in Bengaluru before venturing into freelance photography.
Mr. Vitla, a recipient of many awards, had ‘V-Kshana’, a solo photography column in Kannada Prabha in 1997. He brought out a coffee-table book, Facets of Karnataka, on Karnataka’s rich natural heritage in 2017. His last rites were conducted at his native village Vitla on Monday.
