Acer today launched its Aspire R 13 convertible notebook in India at a price Rs 83,999. The R 13 comes with Acer’s unique Ezel Aero Hinge that allows the display to rotate into six different modes. It can also be used with the optional Acer Active Pen.
The Aspire R 13 Series was first unveiled at Acer’s Global Press Conference at IFA 2014 in Berlin, Germany, where Acer announced their entire line of holiday products.
The Aspire R 13 is less than 1 inch thin and weighs around 1.5 kg. It comes with a 13.3-inch Full HD touch display which can rotate 180-degrees. The screen comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
In addition, anti-fingerprint technology helps eliminate smudges. Corning’s newly developed AR/ETC technology minimizes reflections and improves the display’s contrast.
The Aspire R 13 can also be used with an optional Acer Active Pen for drawing, creating and collaborating. The pen comes with a pressure sensor for professional drawing and a hover sensor for easy access to functions. It also supports palm rejection so users can write on the screen.
The pen works with Acer’s exclusive pen-enabled software, Acer Hover Access, which is pre-installed on all models.
The device is powered by 4th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, has up to 512 GB of Solid State Drive with RAID-0 support and up to 8GB of memory. It runs on Windows 8.1 OS and claims to deliver up to 8 hours of battery life. The Aspire R 13 will be available at select Croma retail stores.
