Bengaluru's pothole artist protests over city's bad roads

Remember the Bengaluru artist who installed a crocodile figure in a pothole in Bangalore. Well he is at it again. Bengaluru based artist Baadal Nanjundaswamy this time turned Kannada actress Sonu Gowda to a Mermaid and made her 'emerge' out a crater sized pothole in the city.

Bengaluru has been facing flak over the worsening conditions of the city roads that claimed three lives in a week. CM Siddaramaiah pulled up officials of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) at a special meeting held after he inspected the accident spots.

About two years ago, Nanjundaswamy shot to fame when he planted a life-sized crocodile in a 12-ft pothole Sultanpalya Main Road. The reptile, created in fibre, lay in a pool of green and became a talking point till authorities rushed in to repair the road. Later BBMP fixed this pothole.

This installation even grabbed the attention of Mahindra Group's executive chairman Anand Mahindra who went on to praise Baadal and promised to support his works.
