BlackBerry has launched the Classic, its latest smartphone which looks like its older phones, in India. The phone will be available only on The Classic tries to cater to the traditional BlackBerry user who want the physical keys as well as the traditional trackpad along with the touchscreen. The keyboard promises better accuracy for users who type a lot when compared to a virtual keyboard. The phone is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM 8960 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB.

Samsung has finally launched the Z1, its first smartphone running the Tizen operating system, in India. The Z1 smartphone sports a 4-inch WVGA PLS display along with a 3.1 MP rear camera and a VGA front camera. Running on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 768MB RAM and 4GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 64GB, the Z1 runs on Tizen 2.3 operating system. It is powered by a 1500mAh battery and comes with regular connectivity options like WiFi, Bluetooth, USB 2.0 and GPS. Tizen is a Linux-based operating system is developed to compete with Android.

Direct-To-Home (DTH) operator Tata Sky has launched India’s first 4K set top box (STB). The set top box will be available for existing and new subscribers to enjoy the forthcoming cricket matches in ultra HD 4k picture clarity. Prospective subscribers can now book their Tata Sky 4K set top box at just Rs 6,400 while existing subscribers can avail the box at Rs 5,900. Subscribers can enjoy it as their first connection or an additional STB at home with the Tata Sky MultiTV connection option. Apart from relaying 4K content, the box will also showcase Standard Definition and High Definition channels.

A week after it launched its new affordable 4G LTE smartphone at CES in Las Vegas, Lenovo has launched its A6000 in India at a very aggressive price of Rs 6,999. India is the first market to get the phone. The phone will be sold only through Flipkart based on registrations starting 6 pm on January 16 and lasting till January 27 pm. The first sale is on January 28 at 2 pm. The Lenovo A6000 is powered by the 1.2GHz 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor along with Adreno 306 GPU , 8GB internal memory, 1GB RAM and a 2300 mAh battery.
