Vertu is kicking of 2015 with its first handset created in collaboration with Bentley. The ‘Vertu for Bentley’ is the first joint product release from the new five-year partnership of the two British luxury brands, which was announced in July. The smartphone will cost almost as much as a car at Rs 12, 50,000 and come with curated services that this luxury band is known for.
The smartphone is covered in quilted calf leather, in the classic Bentley shade of New market Tan, and stitched with a diamond pattern. The supple leather is encased in durable, lightweight, titanium, which features tactile diamond knurling. The ceramic pillow synonymous with established Vertu handsets has now been remodelled to feature a sleeker pillow trim to reflect Bentley’s elegant and sophisticated style.
The phone has acoustics tuned in collaboration with Bang & Olufsen and will feature Dolby Digital Plus virtual surround-sound processing and stereo speakers. Vertu has continued its association with Hasselblad to perfect the image-tuning of the camera. The phone features wireless charging, NFC and Android 4.4 (KitKat) software.
The handset comes with the full spectrum of exclusive services synonymous with the brand like the Vertu Concierge service, curated events and experiences via ‘Vertu Life’, and security services from ‘Vertu Certainty’.
