Aam aadmi contestant Manveer Gurjar has pipped celeb contestants Bani Judge and Lopamudra Raut to win Bigg Boss 10. He will take home the prize money of Rs 40 lakh.
Aam aadmi contestant Manveer Gurjar has pipped celeb contestants Bani Judge and Lopamudra Raut tonight to emerge as the winner of Bigg Boss 10. Evicted contestant Rahul Dev broke the news on Twitter. According to reports, Manveer's father has announced that the contestant will donate half his prize money (Rs 20 lakh) to Salman Khan's Being Human foundation.
While his best friend in the house--Manu Punjabi--left the show grabbing the offer of Rs 10 lakh that was made to all the four finalists; Lopamudra Raut became the second runners up. In the end, it was Manveer vs Bani, and on the basis of votes, Noida's dairy farm owner took home the coveted trophy and the prize money of Rs 40 lakh.
Manveer's journey in the house has been fascinating enough to be turned into a movie (hope makers are paying attention). He entered the show as part of Indiawale gang along with Manu Punjabi, Om Swami, Priyanka Jagga, Akanksha Sharma, Nitibha Kaul, Navin Prakash and Lokesh Kumari Sharma. The celeb contestants on the show were Karan Mehra, Rohan Mehra, Rahul Dev, Bani Judge, Lopamudra Raut, Mona Lisa and Gaurav Chopraa. In the first three weeks, three aam aadmi contestants were evicted, and the chances of an aam aadmi contestant winning the show started looking bleak. But the duo of Manu and Manveer were entertaining and daring enough to take on any challenge and turn it to their advantage. While celebrity contestants like Karan Mehra, Rahul Dev, Gaurav Chopraa were often criticised by Bigg Boss for keeping a low profile.
Manveer's drastic transformation (physical as well as behavioural) on the show has also been much talked about. When he entered the show, he sported a beard and also the don't-mess-with-me attitude. As he went along with the show, he proved his team playing skills by shaving off his beard for saving his friend Manu from getting nominated. His aggressive attitude took a backseat, and he started to learn the tricks of the game, with Manu's help. While Manveer did not spare those who messed with him, he forgave quicky. He was the only person on the show who could handle Om Swami, and that's no less than an achievement.
In the grand finale performance, he looked every bit a star, as he performed with his M3 gang--Manu and Mona.
BB 10 grand finale was one memorable night. It saw a series of brilliant performances by host Salman Khan. He not only performed along with Bollywood's dancing king Hrithik Roshan, and with evicted contestants Mona, Rohan, Gaurav; the megastar also shook a leg to a rap dedicated to aam aadmi contestants. Naagin 2 star Mouni Roy and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa contestant Karishma Tanna also joined him on the stage to perform Prem Ratan Dhan Payo with him.
Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan shared an excellent camaraderie on stage; their dance performance together was just mind-blowing. Especially, the one, where Hrithik was seen giving dance lessons to the Sultan of Bollywood.
Arch rivals Bani and Lopa took their rivalry to the dance floor this time, as they performed to the Dhaakad song from Dangal.
The finale also saw the promotion of two upcoming shows of Colors--Dil Se Dil Tak and Chhote Miyaan. The 4 finalists interacted with the characters of Dil Se Dil Tak--Parth (Sidharth Shukla) and Shorvori (Rashami Desai) and the Chhote Miyaan hosts Neha Dhupia and Sohail Khan also made an appearance.
In the meanwhile, a hearty congrats to Manveer Gurjar. He has proved that you cannot underestimate the power of a common man.
