INDORE: Panic gripped MY Hospital when a patient undergoing treatment in swine flu ward of the hospital died and another person with symptoms of swine flu was admitted on Friday. The hospital management and health department, however, ruled out H1N1 influenza as cause of the death.

"A 55-year-old woman, who was suffering from pneumonia that evolved into acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), died at the hospital. We did not send her blood sample to laboratory for test since there was no symptom of swine flu in her," said MYH swine flu nodal officer Dr Sanjay Awasiya. He said that the patient was undergoing treatment at swine flu ward as there was no bed left in medical intensive care unit (MICU).

She said that the condition of both the patients, suffering from swine flu and undergoing treatment in two separate private hospitals, is stable.
