Parliament Monsoon session live updates: Congress will seek to corner the Narendra Modi government in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha over an array of issues, including I-T raids at several locations and properties linked to Karnataka Energy Minister D K Shivakumar in connection with a tax evasion case. Around Rs 10 crore cash was recovered during the raids at various properties linked to the minister, I-T officials were quoted as saying. Rs 7.9 crore cash has been recovered from Delhi, about Rs 2.23 crore has been found at locations in Karnataka, where Assembly elections are scheduled to be held next year, as per PTI report. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley rejected the opposition allegations saying the properties of a particular minister of Karnataka was searched. “In that resort where your MLAs are staying, no search has taken place, no MLA has been searched. A particular individual was to be searched. He has gone and parked himself in that resort,” Jaitley said yesterday. The Monsoon Session of Parliament had begun on July 17 and will culminate on August 11.

7:17 pm: While talking about India’s relations with the Arab countries she said,”India has the best relations with Arab countries in the world. She added that we were able to rescue 4700 Indians from Yemen during Saudi Firing.

7:04 pm: The External Affairs Minister said that we are not negotiating on Doklam standoff. We are only having discussions on bilateral relations. That is the only way to come to a solution.

7: 02 pm: Sushma went on to say that war does not give a solution to any problem. She added, even after war talks the are needed to find a solution.

7:00 pm: She expressed her disappointment over the Opposition party leader inviting Chinese envoy without even asking the India.

6:53 pm: Talking about relationship with Pakistan Sushma said that for the first time Pakistan did no go in denial after the Pathankot attack. She added, we had made a roadmap of peace and friendship but it cannot be worked out from one side. Terrorism and talks cannot go hand in hand.

6:45 pm: Swaraj reminded the Opposition that have they forgot the nationwide blocked that took place during Rajiv Gandhi government citing the question put to her over several blockades that took place.

4:25 pm: Meanwhile, the government is drafting a law to protect people who invest in chit funds schemes and will be brought to the Parliament soon said, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.Replying to a debate on ‘The Banking Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2017’ in the Lok Sabha, he said there is a need for a pan-India law to deal with chit fund schemes in addition to state laws which already exist.

3:58 pm: Notably, this was not the first time when Agarwal had raised the issue. Earlier, in March, Agarwal had said,”We have been yearning to see the presence of nominated members. They never come to the house. The entire session is over, but we haven’t seen them, be it Tendulkar or film actress Rekha or others.” Tendulkar and Bollywood star Rekha had the worst Rajya Sabha attendance record among the 12 nominated members.

3:32 pm: Earlier, on Tuesday, Samajwadi Party MP Naresh Agarwal had questioned the absence of nominated members from the Rajya Sabha. Agarwal had on Tuesday asked Tendulkar and actress Rekha to resign from the Rajya Sabha. Speaking in the Upper House of Parliament, he had said,“They should resign if they are not interested in Parliament They are hardly present in Parliament.”

3:22 pm: However, Tendulkar did not ask any questions during the proceedings. Even, boxer Mary Kom was present at the Upper House.

3:14 pm: Notably, Sachin Tendulkar was present at the Rajya Sabha session today after questions were raised over his absence from the house.

3:09 pm: He said, Indian women are performing very well in sports and referred to the recent performance of the women cricket team which made it to World Cup finals.

3:07 pm: Moreover, Congress member Rajeev Shukla raised the issue to formulate a special policy to promote women sportspersons in the country during the Zero Hour.
