Two minor girls stripped, thrown out of school over father’s inability to pay fees in Begusarai, Bihar

In a shocking incident in Begusarai district of Bihar, two sisters were forcefully stripped and thrown out of a school after their father could not pay the school uniform fee on time. Speaking to PTI, police said, “Two girls, who were sisters, were thrown out of their private school in Begusarai district after taking off their school dress as the fee for the uniform was not paid on time.” The incident took place on June 16 and a police complaint was lodged by the father of the girls. Police had arrested the principal and a teacher of the school in connection with the incident.

B.R Education Academy school which is located in Sikraula village, had given school uniforms to the two girls, who were supposed to pay the money. Speaking about the incident, the girls’ father Chunchun Sah said, “I pleaded for some time to deposit the fee, but the teacher stripped my daughters on the spot in front of everyone.” In his complaint Sah has said that he was asked to meet a lady teacher when he had gone to pick up his daughters from school yesterday.

As soon as he reached the school, she asked him to pay the fee for uniform then and there. Sah alleged that his plea seeking some time to pay was not entertained by the teacher and she took off the uniform worn by his daughters in front of everyone and threw them out of the school.

Sah had also mentioned that when he went to the school principle, his complaint was avoided completely following which he lodged the FIR. Sub-Divisional Police Officer Rajesh Kumar said that the principal and the lady teacher were arrested on Saturday evening. However, the principle has denied that any such incident took place in the school. Ashok Choudhary, who is the state Education Minister has termed the incident as ‘insensitive’ and assured strict action against the school and the culprits.
