UP reports 55 new swine flu cases, health department releases action plan

Of these, Lucknow led with 23 cases, followed by Gautam Budh Nagar with 19, Ghaziabad four and Meerut, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Faizabad, Bahraich, Azamgarh, Amethi, Sitapur and Sant Kabir Nagar one each. Uttar Pradesh has reported 298 positive swine flu cases and 13 deaths since January till August 6.

Ten beds have been asked of each district hospital to be kept aside for isolation of swine flu patients and medicines to be sufficiently maintained. Vaccination of high risk groups such as health care workers in close contact with swine flu patients and its diagnosis is to be prioritised and use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) such as medical masks, gloves, eye wear and coats, put into place.
