SI-rank officers made in-charge of 14 police stations
It was work as usual at police stations in Adilabad district on Friday despite officers of the rank of Sub-Inspectors and above being in Hyderabad to attend a meeting with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
The department had made arrangements for deputing SI-rank officers from different wings as in-charge of 14 out of the 18 police stations in the district.

While the Additional SP (Operations) T. Panasa Reddy was made in-charge Adilabad district SP, Armed Reserve DSP Burhan Ali was given the charge of Utnoor division and Adilabad Central Crime Station DSP K. Narasimha Reddy was made in-charge of Adilabad division. Similarly, Special Branch Inspector B. Praveen was given the charge of Ichoda and Utnoor circles and District Crime Records Bureau Inspector D. Bhumaiah was made in-charge of Adilabad Rural and Jainad circles.
But for four police stations, all others had SI-rank officials made in-charge or the second SIs taking over like in the case of Adilabad One Town. It was at Sirikonda, Gadiguda, Bheempur and Bela police stations that Assistant Sub-Inspectors functioned as in-charge SIs.
“We are conducting patrolling at Utnoor,” said Indervelli Assistant SI Jeevan Kumar to indicate that all was well. “This is routine work and has not suffered owing to the absence of my officer,” he added.
At Gudihatnoor police station, ASI S. Ashok had to deal with an accident and there was no other case during the day.
As this police station has jurisdiction on either side of NH 44 in Gudihatnoor mandal, it mostly deals with accidents and some petty brawls.
“I got the victims of the accident admitted to RIMS Hospital in Adilabad. Now I am on rounds,” Mr. Ashok pointed out to say that everything was normal.
