There is good news for all Indian Xiaomi fans - the company has just confirmed that the recently launched Mi Mix 2 will be launching in India soon. The Mi Mix 2 is a sequel to last year's Mi Mix and comes with a radical bezel-less design, top of the line specifications and a 5.99-inch edge-to-edge display.
Last year's Mi Mix never made it to Indian shores and was available only in select location around the world. Vice President of Xiaomi, Manu Kumar Jain confirmed the news via a Tweet that read - " Breaking news Mi Fans: Mi MIX 2 will be launching in India soon. RT if you are excited about this amazing news".
There is also a special edition of the Mi Mix 2 that comes with a ceramic unibody design. While the regular edition is only available in Black, the special edition comes in two colour variants - Black and White. It is not known at the moment if the ceramic unibody version will make it India.
The Mi Mix 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 64, 128 and 256GB of internal storage depending on the variant. It comes with a 5.99-inch FullHD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The special edition comes with 8GB of RAM.
The front earpiece of the Mi Mix faced a lot of criticism from users and critics alike. In the Mi Mix 2, Xiaomi has added what it calls a 'hidden sound-guided speaker' that comes with 'cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology' that resonates sound through the aluminium frame and delivers it through the display itself.
The Mi Mix 2 starts at RMB 3299 (roughly Rs 32,390) for the variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and goes up to RMB 4699 (roughly Rs 46,000) for the special ceramic unibody edition.
There are two more variants in between - one with 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage for RMB 3599 (roughly Rs 35,387) and one with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage for RMB 3999 ((roughly Rs 39,210). There is no word on Indian pricing as of now.
